✨ Apparently, there is a few of you that are REALLY into this one… and honestly, we get it.
Come spend the evening with us and make something ridiculously cool using an art form you may have never heard of before!
KINUSAIGA is a modern Japanese craft and textile art form invented in the 1980s by Japanese craft artist Satsu Mayano. Originally, it was a clever way to repurpose treasured kimono silk remnants into incredibly detailed picture mosaics.
And the best part? THERE IS NO SEWING. NONE. ZERO. ZIP. 😂
You’ll choose ONE of the four designs shown above, and we’ll supply everything you need to create your very own Kinusaiga. We’ll walk you through the process step-by-step, so you can relax, get creative, and maybe discover a new obsession along the way.
👯 Register with a friend and make a night of it, OR come solo and meet some new friends who apparently also enjoy stuffing fabric into tiny spaces for fun. 😉
A couple of things to know:
🔎 This is detailed work! If you use reading glasses, please bring them.
✂️ If you have a favourite pair of SHARP scissors, bring them along! We’re working on building up our scissor collection and, apparently, scissors have become workshop currency around here.
🕕 Start time: 6:00 PM Thursday, August 6, 2026
📍 Location: 60 Stoneshire Manor, Spruce Grove (my home workshop)
🚨 IMPORTANT: SCENT-FREE EVENT
Due to severe allergies, this is a SCENT-FREE event. Please help us keep the space safe and comfortable for everyone.
🐱 There are also two kitties and one dog who live here.
🧵 A LITTLE FABRIC PSA
We have a pretty good collection of fabrics to work with, but we’re always looking to expand our stash!
If you have old dress shirts or thin cotton fabrics that are not stretchy and are destined for the donation bin, we would be absolutely thrilled to give them a second life.
🚗 ONE LAST THING…
Please park IN THE FRONT OF OUR HOUSE. We’re trying to be good neighbours. .
So come join us, make something beautiful, learn a completely new craft, and spend an evening with some pretty awesome people.
