📣 HEAR YE, HEAR YE! 📣
🎄 Introducing the CRAFTING EVENT OF THE SEASON in Stony Plain! 🎄
We are ridiculously excited about this one because we’ve organized our 3rd ANNUAL DAY of crafting!
Yes. An ENTIRE DAY. 😍
One day. Three amazing projects. A whole lot of creativity, laughs, festive fun and, best of all, you go home with THREE finished projects—plus the skills and confidence to make more!
No previous experience necessary. If you’re already a seasoned crafter, don’t worry…we’ll happily take you to the next level. 😉
🧵 FIRST UP: KINUSAIGA
We’ll kick off the morning with a beautiful Kinusaiga, a Japanese textile art technique that creates stunning pictures using pieces of fabric carefully tucked into a prepared design—**and there’s no sewing involved! **
We’ll guide you step-by-step through the process, showing you all the little tricks that make this craft so special. You choose your own fabrics to make it your very own. Tiny pieces of fabric make stunning artwork. Choose between an Angel or Christmas Stocking.
✂️ If you have a favorite pair of sharp scissors to use for fabric or even fabrics that you love, bring them along.
🎨 NEXT UP: CHOOSE YOUR PAINTING PROJECT
Now it’s time to get your paint on! We'll start off by painting your frame to complete your Kinusaiga project and then move onto painting a set of 3 shelf sitters.
All the pieces are precut and ready for you, so you can jump right into the fun.
You’ll start by dry-fitting your pieces, then paint and customize your project using whatever colours make you happy. Add those extra elements, put your own spin on it and create something that is completely yours.
And don’t worry if you don’t consider yourself an artiste. These designs are made for everyone! 🎨
🌲 AND THEN…THINGS GET MESSY!
As the day goes on, we progressively get messier.
That's how you know we're having a great time. 😂
Our final project is a live greenery arrangement, and you get to choose between a whimsical Whoville Tree or a beautiful Christmas Centerpiece.
We’ll provide everything you need to create your arrangement, but if you have a favourite ribbon, bird, ornament, bobble or special little something you’d love to incorporate, bring it along! We’d love to help make your project uniquely yours.
🌿 If you have a pair of gardening shears, please bring them with you.
✨ AND WE'LL BE WITH YOU EVERY STEP OF THE WAY
Each session will have instructors there to guide you through your project, answer questions, demonstrate techniques and help you create something you’ll be proud to take home.
You’ll leave with three completed projects, new skills, lots of inspiration and hopefully a few new crafting friends.
You will NOT be disappointed! ❤️

🥂 Feeling festive? Wine, Baileys and canned alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase throughout the day. Because sometimes your masterpiece deserves a little liquid encouragement. 😂

A FEW OTHER THINGS TO KNOW:
🎶 Festive music and our Groovy Elf instructors will keep the day rolling.
🧦 We’ll be crafting ALL DAY, so dress accordingly. I’ll be wearing my crafting slippers. 😂
🛍️ Extra crafting kits will be available for purchase the day of the event.
👓 There is some detail work involved, so if you use reading glasses, bring them!
🖌️ All supplies and tools are included. There are gardening shears for the greenery to share at your table as well as scissors to use for your fabric. You are welcome to bring your own if you don't want to share or love your own tools. If you have favourite paintbrushes or an apron you love, feel free to bring them along.
👧 Ages 12+ with appropriate supervision.
🎟️ REGISTERING MORE THAN ONE PERSON?
Easy peasy!
Simply add the first person to your cart and make their project choices, then add the second person and make their choices, and continue until everyone is registered.

🦉 The Barn Owl Workshop Registration & Cancellation Policy
Thank you for joining us at The Barn Owl! We want you to have a wonderful workshop experience, so please take a moment to read our registration and cancellation policies before booking.
By registering for a workshop, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the policies below.
🎨 Registration
- Workshop spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Full payment is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot.
- Your registration is not considered confirmed until payment has been received.
🦉 If The Barn Owl Cancels a Workshop
While we do our best to run every workshop as scheduled, The Barn Owl reserves the right to cancel a workshop if there are fewer than six (6) registered participants.
If we cancel a workshop, you may choose one of the following options:
- 🎁 Receive your project as a Kit to Go.
- 📅 Transfer your registration to another available workshop.
- 🖌️ Have your project completed by one of our instructors and arrange a time to pick it up.
🤒 If You Can't Attend
Life happens! If you are unable to attend your workshop because of illness, an unexpected commitment, or any other reason, please let us know before the workshop begins.
You can notify us by phone, text, email, or direct message.
With advance notice, your registration will be converted to a Kit to Go, including all the materials and written instructions you need to complete your project at home.
Please note:
- Kits to Go must be picked up within 30 days of the original workshop date.
- Any unclaimed kit after 30 days will be donated.
- A Kit to Go does not include live instructor assistance.
🚫 No-Shows
If you do not attend your workshop and do not contact us before the workshop begins, your registration will be forfeited.
Unfortunately, no Kit to Go, workshop transfer, completed project, or refund will be provided for a no-show.
👥 Transferring Your Registration to Someone Else
Can't make it but have a friend who would love to take your spot? No problem!
You may transfer your registration to another person as long as you notify us before the workshop begins.
The new participant must complete the same project you originally registered for, as materials have already been prepared specifically for that project.
💰 Refund Policy
Workshop registrations are non-refundable.
Refunds will not be issued for:
- Participant cancellations.
- Missed workshops or no-shows.
- Changes in personal schedules.
- Other circumstances that prevent a participant from attending.
If you can't attend, please contact us before the workshop begins so we can arrange a Kit to Go or registration transfer whenever possible.
🎁 What's Included in a Kit to Go?
Each Kit to Go includes:
- All materials needed to complete your project.
- Detailed written instructions.
We do our best to make your Kit to Go as easy to follow as possible. However, please keep in mind that it does not include the hands-on instruction or assistance provided during the workshop.
